Tails saved Sonic twice in Eggheads. Had it not been for him, Sonic would have eaten the Eggman cookie, which would have turned him evil. Not to mention he would have that mustache on his face.
The others ended up eating them, and Sonic was able to save them, but it all came down to what Tails did. Even as a pseudo-villain, Tails was the real hero.
The way Sonic looks at Ghost Amy, sighing, and Shadow’s low growl. All I can think of is this.
I am more and more convinced that Eggman raised Sonic

While everyone is enjoying and having fun, these two are not happy

He’s the most annoying thing ever and I love him for it!
I just realized how much I like that Sonic thinks all his friends are awesome; Blaze, Silver, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, even Tangle, Whisper and Lanolin, he's just that super supportive friend we all would like to have, the one who encourages us to reach our full potential, that's really sweet 😌
