Almost done with SatAM, so I figured now would be a good time to compare the two versions of Tails we got in this and AoStH.

A!Tails is in every episode, S!Tails isn’t. And when he is, it’s more as a cameo than an actual role.
A!Tails is 4 ½, and helped Sonic quite a few times, and has even developed his mechanical prowess on his own. S!Tails is 10 years old, but is pretty much treated like a child by everyone, and he only started displaying understanding for machines in the third to last episode, and that was because of Sally.

It’s true, AoStH had a smaller cast, and SatAM is has a more serious plot. But the fact that a younger version of Tails contributed more and had more focus just kind of rubs me the wrong way, especially since AoStH came out first. I get SatAM focuses more on Sonic’s relationship with Sally, and she’s the deuteragonist. But still, turning Tails into a minor supporting role, even when he’s older, just doesn’t do it for me. Especially with Rotor taking the mechanic role (no offense, I do like Rotor). It was part of Tails’ bio in Sonic the Hedgehog 2! They could have at least worked together on that stuff.

I know if SatAM got a third season, he would have had a much larger role, and have had a lot of character development. But alas, the show was cancelled and we never saw it.

And don’t even get me started with Tails not being in Sonic Underground!
